How to Set Up Two Factor Authentication on Twitch

2FA on Twitch is easy to configure, you just have to know where to look. Here’s how to add extra security to your account, keeping hackers at bay:

Open Twitch on your computer to follow along with these instructions.

Open the Twitch website and log in to your account.
Select yourprofile picture at the top right of the page.
ClickSettings .
SelectSecurity and Privacy .

5. Scroll down a bit and chooseSet Up Two-Factor Authentication .

6. SelectEnable 2FA .

7. Enter your phone number, then clickContinue .

8. Enter the verification number you receive via SMS message.

9. On your phone, open an authentication app such as Google Authenticator , and use it to scan the QR code on the Twitch website.
10. Find the Twitch entry in the authentication app and enter its 2FA code into the boxes provided on the Twitch website.

How to Use Your Twitch Account With Two Factor Authentication

Once you’ve set 2FA on Twitch, you’ll need to log in slightly differently than before. Here’s what to expect:

If you can’t find the app or you no longer have access to it, select thehere link below the text box to authenticate via SMS.
Enter the 2FA code into theToken box in your browser, then clickSubmit to log in.

You have to be fast because the code expires after a set amount of time. To avoid having to enter the 2FA code the next time you log in, select theRemember check box before you log in.
